Students will still have the opportunity to earn college credit by taking their Advanced Placement exams this spring. The College Board is working to prepare exams students will take at home on their electronic device. Here is a link to information on the College Board website.  Some of the key details are 

• Exams are at a scheduled day and time (see schedule below)
• Exams are streamlined and limited to 45 minutes instead of the typical 2 1/2- 3 1/2 hours.
• North students will be able to access the exams via their chromebooks.
• Students may choose to handwrite or type their responses. Directions will be provided for both choices.
• College Board will be providing specific directions, simulation videos, and opportunities for students to access the test portal before their test day. These will be provided to students in late April.

Your student's teacher contacted your student with specific information about the type of question(s) that will appear on this updated test. If you have questions specific to your student's test, please contact the teacher. For general questions about AP testing this year, please contact Laura Schmidt Norths AP Coordinator. The Oshkosh Area School District’s Annual Student Update (Enrollment) - for Returning Students and for New 4K Students is now open! Please click on this link for more information.

In our continual effort ot increase safety and security at our schols, the Oshkosh Area School District has expanded its safety protocols through the use of the Raptor Visitor Management System. The new visitor management system will be implemented on March 16, 2020, at all OASD schools.

Upon entering a school building, visitors will be asked to present a valid state-issued ID or simply provide their name and date of birth, which will be checked against a national sex offender database to ensure that registered sexual offenders are not entering our buildings. The system will also create a badge for visitors to wear while visiting a school. All visitors that wish to enter student areas of a school OR pick-up a student during school hours will be required to sign-in using the Raptor system. Visitors that are simply dropping something off at the office or meeting with office staff will not need to use the system. 

If a parent/guardian or visitor does not have a US government-issued ID, the school staff member can use any form of identification and manually enter the person’s name and date of birth into the Raptor system. The only data collected is the individual’s name, date of birth, and picture. No other pieces of information are collected nor is any of this information shared with any outside agency. 

The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority and the District has been proactive in implementing a layered approach to school safety. The Raptor Visitor Management System will allow us to quickly identify those that should not have access to our schools, and ensure that we continue to provide a safe and welcoming school environment. 

INTERPRETER NEEDS FOR GRADUATION
If a graduating senior or family member of a graduating senior is in need of an interpreter for the graduation ceremony taking place on Wednesday, June 3 at 6:00PM at the Menominee Nation Arena, please contact Dawn Pommerening at North High School at 424-7000 x2401.  Arrangements will then be made to have an interpreter present for the graduation ceremony.

HOW TO SEND OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS
Please remember that EACH college you apply to will require an official high school transcript be sent after you apply AND in June after graduation. 

To refresh your memory from the senior meeting, please visit the Oshkosh North Counseling Department website (https://oshkosh-north-high.oshkosh.k12.wi.us/counseling/college-career-development) to review the TWO ways to send your transcripts. 

Please note- it is your responsibility to get transcripts sent to the colleges in which you apply. The only exception to this is IF you apply to colleges via the Common Application. When you utilize the Common Application, transcripts are uploaded to your application by School Counselors.
