Please take a moment to read the information below regarding upcoming Wisconsin Forward and ACT Aspire testing. The testing refers to specific grades however all students need to be aware.

We recognize students are working hard during this Model 3 learning and hope to give back a bit of fun and appreciation!!  For that reason, all students that earn a Spartan PRIDE card will be placed in a drawing and if chosen, will be sent a PRIDE Prize (gift card, Spartan Gear, etc)

The parking permit fee has been waived for the 2020-21 school year.  However, any student that is parking in the Oshkosh North lots must have a student parking pass.  Please stop down at the School Bank with a completed 2020-21 Parking Permit Application to pick up your pass.

No in person athletic code meetings this year due to Covid unfortunately.  All FVA schools are now allowing 2 spectators per player (Hortonville is 4). Most are not charging admission.  

As February approaches the post season will begin for most winter sports.  This year's regionals, sectionals and state competitions will look very different due to Covid but we are happy for the opportunity to participate and compete! 

Fall sports are now scheduled to start in the early spring:  

• Girls Volleyball on Feb. 22nd,
• Football and Girls Tennis on March 8th 
• Cross Country on March 15th,
• Boys Soccer on March 22nd 
• Girls Golf on March 29th

The "Fall" season will conclude by late April/early May.  There WILL be games and practices scheduled during spring break (3/29 - 4/2). Fall and Spring sports seasons will overlap slightly and each program will work together so our student-athletes can participate in both seasons.  We are back loading the spring schedules with games to allow fall sports to complete their seasons.  We want to avoid student-athletes having to choose between fall and spring sports, they can do both!   Communication between coaches and student-athletes will be key to this working out!

Spring sports have been pushed back by about a month from their traditional starting dates and the new start dates are as follows:

• Baseball, Boys Golf, Softball and Boys & Girls Track will start April 19th
• Girls Soccer will start on April 26th 
• Boys Tennis on May 3rd.

Spring sports will conclude by mid to late June.

I'd be glad to answer any questions parents/students might have to the best of my ability.  I know there is a lot of uneasiness right now but we are working hard to put together 3 condensed seasons for the student-athletes and coaches this year!  Ultimately our COVID numbers are driving all decisions.

SENIOR SLIDESHOW INFORMATION
We are starting to accept baby pictures for the senior slideshow. Send them to oshkoshnorthyearbook@gmail.com or bring them in to Room 235 with your name on the back. We would like these by February 14. You can also start sending in friends pictures, pictures of you and friends at events, sports pictures, etc...each student can send 5. We will use as many as we can, first come, first served.

Hi parents of seniors! If you'd like to purchase a senior ad, click on the link below for more information. We would like all ads purchased by Valentine's Day.  We have five spreads set aside and once they're bought, they're gone. Last year we sold out, so make sure to get your contracts in as soon as possible. If you're worried about design, my students can put these together for you. These are an amazing keepsake for your child, to get their own shout out in the yearbook, especially this year with everything that's been canceled.

Dear Spartan Parents

It has been a long wait but we are finally ready to start winter sports competitions.  It will be great to see our student-athletes competing again.  Please note that each school district in our conference is handling fan attendance as a district based decision. Appleton is currently not allowing any fans to attend athletic events.  Oshkosh, Fond du Lac, Hortonville, Kaukauna, Kimberly and Neenah will be allowing up to 2 fans to attend for each student-athlete.  Each of these schools may have a different way of handling spectators so we will be sharing with you each of these district's protocols a few days in advance of away games. 

All FVA schools will be live-streaming all varsity and some sub-varsity athletic events.   The OASD will be live-streaming all levels of our home athletic events.  The district has created a YouTube channel for each high school and the attached sheet explains everything you need to know about how our live streaming will work for our home events.  Also, below is the FVA website link that has all of the streaming information for the other FVA schools when we are away at their site.  If you have any questions please let me know and thanks for your support of Spartan Athletics!

The OASD COVID-19 Dashboard is now available on the District website.

While in Model 4: Virtual Learning, this dashboard will replace the school-wide letters that were previously sent to families and staff each time there was a positive case of COVID-19 within a school or program. That means that we will no longer be sending school-wide notices regarding positive cases, and instead, encourage families and staff to visit our online dashboard for this information. However, please know that if a student or staff member is determined to be a close contact to a person who tested positive for COVID-19 in a school or program, families and staff will still be notified as quickly as possible with close contact and quarantine information. 

In our continual effort ot increase safety and security at our schools, the Oshkosh Area School District has expanded its safety protocols through the use of the Raptor Visitor Management System. The new visitor management system will be implemented on March 16, 2020, at all OASD schools.

Upon entering a school building, visitors will be asked to present a valid state-issued ID or simply provide their name and date of birth, which will be checked against a national sex offender database to ensure that registered sexual offenders are not entering our buildings. The system will also create a badge for visitors to wear while visiting a school. All visitors that wish to enter student areas of a school OR pick-up a student during school hours will be required to sign-in using the Raptor system. Visitors that are simply dropping something off at the office or meeting with office staff will not need to use the system. 

If a parent/guardian or visitor does not have a US government-issued ID, the school staff member can use any form of identification and manually enter the person’s name and date of birth into the Raptor system. The only data collected is the individual’s name, date of birth, and picture. No other pieces of information are collected nor is any of this information shared with any outside agency. 

The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority and the District has been proactive in implementing a layered approach to school safety. The Raptor Visitor Management System will allow us to quickly identify those that should not have access to our schools, and ensure that we continue to provide a safe and welcoming school environment. 

Update as of Wednesday, February 3: Free school meals will be available at one distribution time and location only. The distribution will be Wednesdays from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. at Oshkosh West High School (main parking lot - enter on Taft Avenue and exit on Eagle Street). Those accessing free meals cannot enter the school parking lot until 4 p.m. to allow students and staff to safely exit the area before the distribution begins.

• Free Family Food Boxes: In addition to a week’s worth of school meals, families will also be able to receive Farm to Family Food Boxes - a partnership with Feeding America. LEARN MORE

NOTE: No school meals will be sent home with students at the end of their in-person learning days at this time. Families looking for additional school meals for virtual learning days are asked to visit the distribution sites on Wednesdays to receive those meals.

Meal Distribution Details:

1. Meals will be distributed for five days at a time and will include a breakfast, lunch, and supper for each day. 
2. Milk will be offered with all meals. 
3. Meals are available and are free to anyone age 18 and under. 
4. Children do not need to be present to receive free meals, a parent/guardian or sibling may pick up meals. 
5. Children do not need to be enrolled in the Oshkosh Area School District to receive free meals. 

Attention Oshkosh Area School District Sophomores and Parents/Guardians:

Are you (or your student) looking for a different and exciting high school experience for next year? Are you interested in jumpstarting a career in manufacturing with an industry-leading Fortune 500 company - all while earning a regular high school diploma?

The School to Work (S2W) Program is a partnership between the Oshkosh Area School District and Oshkosh Corporation. As a two-year program, S2W provides an opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to earn their high school diploma in a non-traditional environment. Each day, a rigorous academic program will be combined with developing manufacturing and employability skills in a hands-on learning environment. Students will attend class for 3 hours per day and will work for 4 hours. This is a paid experience, and each student will be under the guidance of an Oshkosh Corporation mentor.

Current Oshkosh Area School District sophomores and their families are invited to learn more about this exciting opportunity available through the Oshkosh Area School District’s School to Work (S2W) Program.
