We would like to make students and families aware of spring testing dates. Students that are not testing will have a digital learning day on the dates below:

March 8th and 9th will be ACT for all juniors.
Freshman, Sophomores, and Seniors will have a digital learning day and will not be attending school.

April 12th and13th will be Aspire Testing for Freshman and Sophomores.
Juniors and Seniors will have a digital learning day and will not be attending school.

The Oshkosh Area School District is pleased to announce a mid-year enrollment period for the District’s eAcademy, a fully online school for grades K-12. The mid-year enrollment period will take place November 29 through December 10, 2021, at 3 p.m., and will allow students to enroll IN or OUT of eAcademy for the 2021-22 second semester. The Oshkosh Area School District eAcademy is a fully online school for grades K-12.  eAcademy is partnered with the Wisconsin eSchool Network, which is a collaborative network of online programs throughout the state of Wisconsin. The program has been developed in collaboration with online learning experts and is based on years of research and best practices for excellence in virtual learning. Students who participate in the OASD eAcademy enjoy all the benefits of being a OASD student, including earning an OASD diploma and participating in extracurriculars, while receiving a customized, student-centered education that meets individual educational and social needs.

This year we were able to collect 66 units of blood, which has the potential to save the lives of 198 people! The leadership students put so much work into Friday's drive and our positive results are largely a result of our student body's work ethic, personal drive, and desire to do good for their community. A big thank you to all who participated to help save lives!

OSHKOSH NORTH SCHOOL STORE OPENING IN OCTOBER!
As of right now the plan is for the school store to be fully open again starting in October. We are in the process of putting in a new apparel order and we will be able to offer a variety of new items next month. We are figuring out what hours of the day we will be open and what extracurricular events we will be open during and when we have that information it will be sent out! If you are interested, the online school store is currently open.

If something in our glass display catches your eye and you are interested in buying anything from our school store here at North, please just let me know and I can open the store up for you and take care of the sale. If you have any questions, comments, suggestions, or concerns please let me know.

2021-2022 school yearbooks are on sale now! You can purchase a yearbook on the IC parent portal for the 2021-2022 school year. There is an early bird special, where the yearbooks are only $55 for the 216-page with supplement, full-color yearbook. This offer is valid until September 30th, so order quickly! October 1st until the end of first semester, the cost is $65. At the beginning of 2nd semester the cost increases to $75 until all ordered yearbooks are sold. Order early to save money and to ensure a yearbook is held for you! Extra yearbooks are sold at the end of the year, but it’s not guaranteed how many will be available and they have sold out in the past, and those yearbooks sell for $80, so ordering early is to your benefit.

JOSTENS SENIOR ORDERS
We strongly encourage you to get your orders in ASAP.  Due to the pandemic it is taking much longer for orders to come in. Please turn your orders in even you do not have payment at this time, Jostens will work with you regarding payment options. We want to ensure that you have your orders received in time for graduation. Please note that the cap and gown ordering deadline has passed. You may order online directly from Jostens at www.jostens.com or by calling 1-800-JOSTENS.

BABY PICTURES FOR SENIOR SLIDESHOW
At graduation, a video of the senior class is shown. In the video, each senior's senior picture and a baby picture is displayed. The yearbook staff is currently accepting baby pictures for this video. Send to Ms. Klein at sara.klein@oshkosh.k12.wi.us or to oshkoshnorthyearbook@gmail.com  The due date for these is Feb. 14.

SENIOR AD FOR YEARBOOK
Parents are also encouraged to purchase senior ads for their graduating sons or daughters. Ad purchasing is being accepted now until February 14, 2022. Full page ads are $200, half page ads are $120, and quarter page ads are $75. See ad contract below for more information! HIGH SCHOOL MEAL SERVICES 2021-22

The Food Services Department encourages students to purchase Combo meals using the student’s food service account.  The account is accessed by the student’s pin number.  Combo meals provide the best value both nutritionally and economically.  

1.    All students are required to know their pin number.  Knowing this number moves the line faster. 
2.    In the Food Court, all students purchasing a combo meal will enter their pin number to access the student’s food service account.  
3.    Students paying full price for their meals will have the cost of the combo meal deducted from the student’s individual food service account.  They may also pay cash for the combo meal.  There must be money in the student’s food service account to eat.  If there is not money in the student’s account the student must pay cash to eat.  
4.    Students eligible for free meals will enter their pin number to verify they are eligible to receive a combo meal at no cost.  
5.    Students eligible for reduced meals will enter their pin number and the cost of a reduced price combo meal will be deducted from the student’s individual food service account. They may also choose to pay cash for the reduced price combo meal. There must be money in the student’s food service account to eat.  If there is not money in the student’s account the student must pay cash to eat.  

The Student’s food service account may be used to purchase a la carte items.
Parents / guardians may choose to disallow a la carte purchases.

MEALS THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL:  Any student that was receiving or was eligible for free or reduced price meals at the end of the last school year will be temporarily eligible in the beginning of the school year until a new application is received.  The student must have been in the school district last year for this to occur.  

***At this time, all students will receive free meals again for the 2021 – 2022 School Year.  However, we still highly encourage families to fill out free and reduced applications in order to qualify for other benefits.

APPLICATIONS FOR FREE AND REDUCED PRICE MEALS will be available online on the Infinite Campus Parent Portal in mid-July and will also be mailed out in the US mail to all households in mid-July.  Please return your completed application to the Food Services Office, Oshkosh West High School, 375 N. Eagle St., Oshkosh, WI  54902, or the School Office your 
child attends on or before the first day of school.

 LIMITED LUNCH SERVICE AT THE HIGH SCHOOLS:  Students who have a negative Food Service Balance will be allowed to eat a limited lunch.  The limited lunch will consist of a cheese sandwich (as the entrée) and then will be allowed to have the fruit, veggies and milk offered and the account will get charged accordingly for the limited lunch.  They will NOT be able to have their choice of an entrée.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN THE SCHOOL LUNCH PROGRAM

The food service department is seeking individuals to work for our department serving breakfast and / or lunch. The majority of these positions available are 1.5 - 2 hours in length and are during the breakfast and lunch service time, which varies with the school.  Opportunities for longer shifts and additional hours may also be available.  Please see the WECAN at https://wecan.education.wisc.edu website for employment opportunities along with applying for positions within the Food Service Department.

In our continual effort ot increase safety and security at our schools, the Oshkosh Area School District has expanded its safety protocols through the use of the Raptor Visitor Management System. The new visitor management system will be implemented on March 16, 2020, at all OASD schools.

Upon entering a school building, visitors will be asked to present a valid state-issued ID or simply provide their name and date of birth, which will be checked against a national sex offender database to ensure that registered sexual offenders are not entering our buildings. The system will also create a badge for visitors to wear while visiting a school. All visitors that wish to enter student areas of a school OR pick-up a student during school hours will be required to sign-in using the Raptor system. Visitors that are simply dropping something off at the office or meeting with office staff will not need to use the system. 

If a parent/guardian or visitor does not have a US government-issued ID, the school staff member can use any form of identification and manually enter the person’s name and date of birth into the Raptor system. The only data collected is the individual’s name, date of birth, and picture. No other pieces of information are collected nor is any of this information shared with any outside agency. 

The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority and the District has been proactive in implementing a layered approach to school safety. The Raptor Visitor Management System will allow us to quickly identify those that should not have access to our schools, and ensure that we continue to provide a safe and welcoming school environment. 

We appreciate your willingness to volunteer your time. Please work directly with the school you would like to volunteer regarding any questions you may have about your application and its status. Please note that a volunteer application only needs to be filled out one time per school year regardless if you want to volunteer in multiple schools. If you are selected to volunteer, please let the school secretary know that you have completed this form. By completing and submitting this form you agree to the following statement:
