Yearbooks can no longer be purchased through Infinite Campus, as the books have been ordered. However, a few more extras were purchased. If you missed the deadline to purchase a yearbook, you can buy through the yearbook publisher's website. Go to yearbookforever.com, type in "Oshkosh North", and then shop the store. Books are $75, which includes their service fee. Please note orders are first come, first serve and there is a very limited supply.
 

Overview of North High School Testing information - Spring 2022

March 8th: All juniors, including eAcademy students, take the ACT at school. Freshman, Sophomores, and Seniors have a digital learning day (coursework on Canvas) and don’t report to school.

March 9th: Any juniors who have extended time for ACT have additional time to complete the ACT. Freshman, sophomores, and seniors have a digital learning day (coursework on Canvas) and don’t report to school. Juniors who have completed the ACT on March 8th do not need to attend school on March 9th.

March 29th: Sophomores will be taking the WI Forward exam during 1st-3rd hours. Freshman, Juniors, and Seniors have classes as normal.

March 30th: Make up WI Forward Exam for sophomores

April 11th: ACT Aspire exam for Freshman and Sophomores at school. Most students will finish testing before 1:00 and are able to leave. If they stay they can remain in the cafeteria. Juniors and Seniors will have a digital learning day (coursework on Canvas) and won’t report to school.

International Day of Women and Girls in Science - February 11

Hosted by UW Stevens Point and UW System Alliance for Inclusion, Equity, Diversity and Advancement in STEM (IDEAS Alliance)
Please join us for an event to interact with current women in STEM! It's a virtual event and open to those in Grades 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12. The event is free and open to those who register. We will be having a keynote address with a current scientist at Borregaard USA, followed by a panel of STEM individuals from UW System and industry. The panel will be able to answer questions from attendees during the session. 

Lastly, we will have breakout rooms available for attendees to chat with current UW System advisors or instructors working in different disciplines. Get advice on classes you should take, how to get involved in research, what jobs are available for different majors, or explore different career paths.

4th Annual Advancing Young Women in STEM Day flyer

The week of February 14-17 FVTC is hosting Program Experience Events. The events are geared towards Juniors (and Seniors) to learn more about FVTC with hands on experiences, tours of labs and classrooms, and opportunities to talk with students and staff. Our $30 application fee will also be waived. Specific to Oshkosh, Riverside’s event is on February 15^th and AMTC/SJS are hosting their events on February 17^th.

Our first ever Black History Month assembly is Tuesday, February 15th at 2:30PM in the North Fieldhouse. We will have a number of wonderful leaders within the community celebrating with us as well. The purpose of this assembly is to uplift and amplify important contributors to Black history.  Along with a message from keynote speaker Dr. Alphonso Simpson, Jr. from UW-Oshkosh, we will be showcasing ONHS BSU student performances of song, dance, and speech.

The Spring Athletic Code Meeting will take place at 6:00PM in the North auditorium on Monday, March 7th.  Any spring student-athlete who didn't attend a fall or winter code meeting earlier this school year will need to attend with a parent/guardian.  Your student also needs to bring their chromebook to the code meeting as all of the paperwork needs to be completed on-line this year.  Meeting will last about 30-40 minutes.

The North Band Program is fundraising for new marching uniforms! Help us raise money by purchasing some ONHS Bands Coffee! All you need to do is click this link and you will be directed to our fundraising portal. All coffees, teas, and cocoas are $14, but half of what you purchase is going to the band program! Everything you buy will be shipped to your home, and shipping is free if you spend over $50. Thank you so much for your support!

HIGH SCHOOL MEAL SERVICES 2021-22

The Food Services Department encourages students to purchase Combo meals using the student’s food service account.  The account is accessed by the student’s pin number.  Combo meals provide the best value both nutritionally and economically.  

1.    All students are required to know their pin number.  Knowing this number moves the line faster. 
2.    In the Food Court, all students purchasing a combo meal will enter their pin number to access the student’s food service account.  
3.    Students paying full price for their meals will have the cost of the combo meal deducted from the student’s individual food service account.  They may also pay cash for the combo meal.  There must be money in the student’s food service account to eat.  If there is not money in the student’s account the student must pay cash to eat.  
4.    Students eligible for free meals will enter their pin number to verify they are eligible to receive a combo meal at no cost.  
5.    Students eligible for reduced meals will enter their pin number and the cost of a reduced price combo meal will be deducted from the student’s individual food service account. They may also choose to pay cash for the reduced price combo meal. There must be money in the student’s food service account to eat.  If there is not money in the student’s account the student must pay cash to eat.  

The Student’s food service account may be used to purchase a la carte items.
Parents / guardians may choose to disallow a la carte purchases.

MEALS THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL:  Any student that was receiving or was eligible for free or reduced price meals at the end of the last school year will be temporarily eligible in the beginning of the school year until a new application is received.  The student must have been in the school district last year for this to occur.  

***At this time, all students will receive free meals again for the 2021 – 2022 School Year.  However, we still highly encourage families to fill out free and reduced applications in order to qualify for other benefits.

APPLICATIONS FOR FREE AND REDUCED PRICE MEALS will be available online on the Infinite Campus Parent Portal in mid-July and will also be mailed out in the US mail to all households in mid-July.  Please return your completed application to the Food Services Office, Oshkosh West High School, 375 N. Eagle St., Oshkosh, WI  54902, or the School Office your 
child attends on or before the first day of school.

 LIMITED LUNCH SERVICE AT THE HIGH SCHOOLS:  Students who have a negative Food Service Balance will be allowed to eat a limited lunch.  The limited lunch will consist of a cheese sandwich (as the entrée) and then will be allowed to have the fruit, veggies and milk offered and the account will get charged accordingly for the limited lunch.  They will NOT be able to have their choice of an entrée.

The food service department is seeking individuals to work for our department serving breakfast and / or lunch. The majority of these positions available are 1.5 - 2 hours in length and are during the breakfast and lunch service time, which varies with the school.  Opportunities for longer shifts and additional hours may also be available.  Please see the WECAN at https://wecan.education.wisc.edu website for employment opportunities along with applying for positions within the Food Service Department.

In our continual effort ot increase safety and security at our schools, the Oshkosh Area School District has expanded its safety protocols through the use of the Raptor Visitor Management System. The new visitor management system will be implemented on March 16, 2020, at all OASD schools.

Upon entering a school building, visitors will be asked to present a valid state-issued ID or simply provide their name and date of birth, which will be checked against a national sex offender database to ensure that registered sexual offenders are not entering our buildings. The system will also create a badge for visitors to wear while visiting a school. All visitors that wish to enter student areas of a school OR pick-up a student during school hours will be required to sign-in using the Raptor system. Visitors that are simply dropping something off at the office or meeting with office staff will not need to use the system. 

If a parent/guardian or visitor does not have a US government-issued ID, the school staff member can use any form of identification and manually enter the person’s name and date of birth into the Raptor system. The only data collected is the individual’s name, date of birth, and picture. No other pieces of information are collected nor is any of this information shared with any outside agency. 

The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority and the District has been proactive in implementing a layered approach to school safety. The Raptor Visitor Management System will allow us to quickly identify those that should not have access to our schools, and ensure that we continue to provide a safe and welcoming school environment. 

We appreciate your willingness to volunteer your time. Please work directly with the school you would like to volunteer regarding any questions you may have about your application and its status. Please note that a volunteer application only needs to be filled out one time per school year regardless if you want to volunteer in multiple schools. If you are selected to volunteer, please let the school secretary know that you have completed this form. By completing and submitting this form you agree to the following statement:

"I authorize the Oshkosh Area School District to conduct a full and complete criminal background check. I understand that any misrepresentation on this statement may result in immediate disqualification for any volunteer service within the Oshkosh Area School District. I understand that the District reserves the right to decline permission to serve as a volunteer.
