There is exciting news to update everyone on.  The construction for the new North Turf Field will begin in October.   They will begin to prepare the field before the ground freezes.  This means that starting October 7th the walkway between Linwood and Smith will be closed.  The path is expected to be closed through November.  Please plan accordingly.  We look forward to the finished field in the Spring of 2022!  

Come and help work concessions with the Oshkosh North Booster Club to raise funds to support our student athletes! We are requesting a final push to fill all open volunteer slots by Monday, October 4th!!

Oshkosh North Booster Club has signed up to work 2 games at Lambeau Field:

• Sunday, October 24th – Noon game vs. Washington Football Team (To date – 14 of 20 slots are filled)
• Sunday, November 14th – 3:25pm game vs. Seattle Seahawks (To date – 13 of 20 slots are filled)

 Twenty volunteers are needed for each game. We are guaranteed at least $2000 for each game (it is a percentage of sales or $2000, whichever is greater) plus 100% of all tips!

Lambeau Field has gone cashless this year, so no money to worry about & if you’ve worked Lambeau before, you’ll be happy to hear we no longer have to do any inventory at the end of the night!!

We did have a coach reach out on the ages to volunteer & here is what was found:

• 18 years or older to serve & sell alcohol
• 14 – 17 years old are able to work & help with stock, cook, clean & food runners

** If your students need service hours, we can provide a letter for time worked

If your student was unable to have their school picture taken or if they wish to have them retaken, picture retake day will be held on October 15 from 7:30-11:00AM in the Auditorium. You may click on the School Picture Order form below to print a physical copy of the order form and send it with payment when your student has their picture taken. Order forms will also be available on picture retake day.

Reflections Yearbook Senior Ad Contract for 2021-22
 

 

The Oshkosh Recreation Department is immediately seeking 1-2 high school students to teach our Spanish for Tots program on Monday and Tuesday evenings from 5:30-6:15 P.M., October 11-November 16. Rate of pay is $10/hour or can provide volunteer hours. Need to have basic Spanish language experience having completed at least one full year of class. The Oshkosh Special Olympics Organization is in dire need of a caring Coordinator and Coaches of Basketball Skills and Track.  (Or the school aged organization may have to close.)   Coordinators do receive a stipend as well as the absolute joy of interacting with these amazing athletes.

OSHKOSH NORTH SCHOOL STORE OPENING IN OCTOBER!
As of right now the plan is for the school store to be fully open again starting in October. We are in the process of putting in a new apparel order and we will be able to offer a variety of new items next month. We are figuring out what hours of the day we will be open and what extracurricular events we will be open during and when we have that information it will be sent out! If you are interested, the online school store is currently open.

If something in our glass display catches your eye and you are interested in buying anything from our school store here at North, please just let me know and I can open the store up for you and take care of the sale. If you have any questions, comments, suggestions, or concerns please let me know.

HIGH SCHOOL MEAL SERVICES 2021-22

The Food Services Department encourages students to purchase Combo meals using the student’s food service account.  The account is accessed by the student’s pin number.  Combo meals provide the best value both nutritionally and economically.  

1.    All students are required to know their pin number.  Knowing this number moves the line faster. 
2.    In the Food Court, all students purchasing a combo meal will enter their pin number to access the student’s food service account.  
3.    Students paying full price for their meals will have the cost of the combo meal deducted from the student’s individual food service account.  They may also pay cash for the combo meal.  There must be money in the student’s food service account to eat.  If there is not money in the student’s account the student must pay cash to eat.  
4.    Students eligible for free meals will enter their pin number to verify they are eligible to receive a combo meal at no cost.  
5.    Students eligible for reduced meals will enter their pin number and the cost of a reduced price combo meal will be deducted from the student’s individual food service account. They may also choose to pay cash for the reduced price combo meal. There must be money in the student’s food service account to eat.  If there is not money in the student’s account the student must pay cash to eat.  

The Student’s food service account may be used to purchase a la carte items.
Parents / guardians may choose to disallow a la carte purchases.

MEALS THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL:  Any student that was receiving or was eligible for free or reduced price meals at the end of the last school year will be temporarily eligible in the beginning of the school year until a new application is received.  The student must have been in the school district last year for this to occur.  

***At this time, all students will receive free meals again for the 2021 – 2022 School Year.  However, we still highly encourage families to fill out free and reduced applications in order to qualify for other benefits.

APPLICATIONS FOR FREE AND REDUCED PRICE MEALS will be available online on the Infinite Campus Parent Portal in mid-July and will also be mailed out in the US mail to all households in mid-July.  Please return your completed application to the Food Services Office, Oshkosh West High School, 375 N. Eagle St., Oshkosh, WI  54902, or the School Office your 
child attends on or before the first day of school.

 LIMITED LUNCH SERVICE AT THE HIGH SCHOOLS:  Students who have a negative Food Service Balance will be allowed to eat a limited lunch.  The limited lunch will consist of a cheese sandwich (as the entrée) and then will be allowed to have the fruit, veggies and milk offered and the account will get charged accordingly for the limited lunch.  They will NOT be able to have their choice of an entrée.

The food service department is seeking individuals to work for our department serving breakfast and / or lunch. The majority of these positions available are 1.5 - 2 hours in length and are during the breakfast and lunch service time, which varies with the school.  Opportunities for longer shifts and additional hours may also be available.  Please see the WECAN at https://wecan.education.wisc.edu website for employment opportunities along with applying for positions within the Food Service Department.

In our continual effort ot increase safety and security at our schools, the Oshkosh Area School District has expanded its safety protocols through the use of the Raptor Visitor Management System. The new visitor management system will be implemented on March 16, 2020, at all OASD schools.

Upon entering a school building, visitors will be asked to present a valid state-issued ID or simply provide their name and date of birth, which will be checked against a national sex offender database to ensure that registered sexual offenders are not entering our buildings. The system will also create a badge for visitors to wear while visiting a school. All visitors that wish to enter student areas of a school OR pick-up a student during school hours will be required to sign-in using the Raptor system. Visitors that are simply dropping something off at the office or meeting with office staff will not need to use the system. 

If a parent/guardian or visitor does not have a US government-issued ID, the school staff member can use any form of identification and manually enter the person’s name and date of birth into the Raptor system. The only data collected is the individual’s name, date of birth, and picture. No other pieces of information are collected nor is any of this information shared with any outside agency. 

The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority and the District has been proactive in implementing a layered approach to school safety. The Raptor Visitor Management System will allow us to quickly identify those that should not have access to our schools, and ensure that we continue to provide a safe and welcoming school environment. 

We appreciate your willingness to volunteer your time. Please work directly with the school you would like to volunteer regarding any questions you may have about your application and its status. Please note that a volunteer application only needs to be filled out one time per school year regardless if you want to volunteer in multiple schools. If you are selected to volunteer, please let the school secretary know that you have completed this form. By completing and submitting this form you agree to the following statement:

I understand that any misrepresentation on this statement may result in immediate disqualification for any volunteer service within the Oshkosh Area School District.
